Default Poker Runs as a Charitable event...what can I deduct on my Taxes?

Doing my Taxes finally, every poker/fun run I have been in was a charitable event...what is deductible on taxes? The entry fee? Fuel?

I deducted the entry fee, gas is a write off regardless.

Both my accountant and my attorneys gave me a bit of advise over 20 years ago "pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered"... meaing choose your battles, why risk trying to claim something that will throw up a red flag, when there are so many other deductions that get over looked.

Yes, you are correct. The portion of the fee that benefits the charity.

That's the Academically correct answer.

I'd just deduct the fee and move on versus trying to value meals, etc...... I think the IRS has bigger fish to fry and you have a check/CC statement to support it.
