Trailering clips, transom saver etc?

Does anyone have a product they prefer besides a ratchet strap to hold the drives up and take the psi off the trim rams for long trailering trips? I'm headed to PA to pick up a boat I just bought and the owner ususlly puts a piece of wood between the front of the drive and the gimbal ring... I'm not going to roll like that.. I'd like a more conventional solution. Boat has twin imcos w external imco hyd steering and swim platform. The drives dont trim up ALL the way because of the platform but enough to get them away from harm thats for sure. I was thinkin two sets of the trailering clips and just cut them to size if need be.. I've read that some people feel these are not that great because theres still psi on the trim ram pins.. Thoughts or your preferences for a devise?

Most boats with twins, the drives are high enough that you don't even need to trim them up on the trailer. Just leave them down, and with external steering they aren't going to flop back and forth either.

I ALWAYS used the trailering clips on my boats; for the last 15 years; and no issues whatsoever.
On my 37AT, the drive indicators were in the way on one side of each drive, so I just put the one clip on each drive. No issues at all over 12+ years of doing such on the AT.

I used the clips early on in my boat owner days. Then one day, in a hurry, I forgot to remove them at the ramp and wondered why my trim gauge wasn't reading correctly as I lowered (thought, anyway) the drive to start the engine and back the boat off the trailer. They've been sitting in storage ever since!

I drilled a little hole at the aft end of each one and put a loop of 1/4 rope through it. This added the visual indicator to make sure I grabbed them, and also made it super easy to pull them off.
4 things to do at the rear of the boat when arriving at ramp:
1) Plugs
2) Transom Straps
3) Prop covers
4) Drive clips.
When I remove the drive clips and the transom straps, I store each side on respective prop covers and laid them in the back of the truck.
