Dedcided to spray paint and not powder coat the winch stand, so besides sanding & wiping it down clean with mineral spirits
what type of primer should I use on the bare tubular steel?...............Also, what type of paint would be best to follow up with?
my trailer is steel & is painted a white gloss finish......kinda new into spray painting since I just bought a 30 gal. compressor
appreciate your thoughts here!.

PPG DP series epoxy primer, dp48 for white. For top coat use DCC single stage. All really good products and easy to use. Sand blast or sand throughly with eighty or one twenty and wipe down with a without wax and geese remover or lacquer thinner not mineral spirits.
