Default Straight bottom vs stepped bottom

All things being equal, what are the approximate speed differences between a straight bottom 27 and a stepped bottom 27. I know a lot of manufactures say 10-12%.

Someone told me a few years ago but I forget the exact #.....I'm thinking it was 5mph or so. I've seen a few of the original straight bottom Activators and they have a regular transom where the Excalibur's that they came from had a notched transom.....I'm curious if a similar powered Excalibur would be faster than the original straight bottom Activators?

Cool

I think you have to consider conditions. My Straight V bottoms seem to break loose in 2-3's.

I'm sure conditions come into play. I was just looking for an overall estimate if someone had one.
