Default Need some help please 38 Scarab Excel 97

Hi Everyone, Im in the process of buying a 97 Excel 38 that will need some parts and wondered if anyone would point me in the right direction .
The boat is pretty much complete but needs to be reassembled and then upholstered.
One thing that i know is missing is the engine covers. Does anyone know where or if i can get the raised covers like the ones on the 38 KV boats ?

TIA for any help

Adam

You make them, there flat, so not to difficult, its wood and fiberglass, like paper mache for big people.

Glass Dave might be helpful. Search his name, he's frequently in the fiberglass section.

the KV decks and Excel are completely different and not interchangeable. Its going to be tough to find a lone hatch for that model. I have a 96 Excel and could build one off based on mine but cost if fairly high for a single loft. You could have six or seven thousand in a custom build and thats before paint or anything else. Do you need blower clearanced race style or flat pad style?

Hi Dave, I didnt realise the decks were not the same , thats going to make things more "interesting" I'll be looking at blower clearanced race style deck rather than a flat pad ( hence my thoughts on the KV style ) the engines will have to be pulled and rebuilt but i thought i would start investigating and asking.... just incase there were a pair sitting in a barn somewhere lol!

Do a search here for the user Team Archer and send him a message. He (Dan) might even see this thread and reply if given a few days.

All the Excel decks that we have done blowers on are either pro stock scoops or a couple we made burbs under the vinyl for the blower to clear but you couldn't see them but you felt them under the vinyl cover. but that's only if its a straight bottom boat the AVS model the freeboard is to short.
