I have a 2005 Sonic 358, my question is if anybody would know if my boat has composite or wood stringers? I have a buyer who is concerned that my boat has wood, he prefers composite material for stringers. He want to drill into my string to confirm which material Sonic used when they built this boat. Would you allow this action to help close the sale? I'm starting to lean towards the buyer can drill into his boat when he purchase it!!

Well...got a glass shop around?? you both take it to a glass shop, he pays the glass guy what it costs to get the hole drilled and fixed. He is going to need to pay to get the hole fixed either way.

Thanks for your input, I just informed the buyer that the drilling is not going to happen until he's the owner!

I have tried to locate Sonic boats on the web, but kept getting to a .NET web site that's jacked up! Anybody know how I could reach Bruce @ Sonic Powerboats, maybe he can provide me with an answer for my potential buyer now and in the future concerning stringer materials. Look at the bright side, dumb buyers tend to overpay for stuff.

This question doesn't seem out of line to me. If he's ready to buy and drilling a small hole and glassing it over is the final stumbling block to making the sale then why not?

Keep the thread at the top, some current/former owners will surely know whether or not the stringers are wood or composite. The current owners I wouldn't even bother with.
