My boat has 2 hatches side by side. One opens forward, the other rearward from the previous owner.
How are everyone's hatches installed? I'm thinking of making them both open forward for more air at anchor. They are never open when I am mov8ng.

Say what??? If there sbs they should both be installed hinging to the front. Occasionally people forget to latch and would suck to get whacked in the melon at with a hatch at high speepds or even hit a boat behind you. Plus the only look right hinging forward. I'm confused why someone would ever install them the way they are currently. Wtf...

I always thought hinges to the front but here's an example on a boat I owned many years ago with hinges to the rear.

Great in the cabin at anchor but any more than 20 mph, I always double checked the locking setup.

That's to help air out the tuna when you leave the cabin door open. Lol... 20 mph probably wouldn't budge them but a strong head wind could if left unlatched.
