Hey Gang, Really enjoying this forum!
I just purchased a 1977 Wellcraft Nova 250 Offshore that I thought would just buff out to perfection. Now that I've dove deeper into the project I'm starting to wonder if I've gotten in over my head. For instance, I have a port light or window in the hull that the plexiglass is cracked to hell as well as the outside frame and I have NO idea where to find a replacement frame.
So, if anyone who's done restorations or have an idea on where to find original parts like the port light, Nova decals or a steering wheel, I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks all!

unless you find a parts boat, its easier to fabricate the parts. The side windows can be made from plexiglass. Update your profile so we know where your at. People are always parting out boats.

There were tons of those made so they shouldnt be too hard to find at a boat junk yard. Steering wheel, its a standard tapered keyway shaft, ebay has tons of them just search marine steering wheel. Wellcrast stickers are all over ebay, and a sticker shop should be able to do the nova ones if you can find them. Its a great first boat, a 77 should have twin merc 188's (ford 302's with 2 bbl carbs) they live forever. should be a bout a 50 mph boat stock and handles lumpy water very well.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions! Just picked up some decals from eBay. I'm really looking forward to getting this boat back out on the water. If you guys have any leads on where to find a a donor boat in the SE WI or NE IL area, I'd be extremely grateful. Still on the hunt for a swim platform, hull window and sterndrive tie bars.
Thanks again!

A friend made an oval porthole frame for his old searay. He took out the matching window from the other side and made a plaster of Paris mold. Waxed up the mold and filled it with resin and chopper glass strands. Came out pretty good. But stuff that size, be patient. Set up an ebay search for it with email notifications when listed and it'll fall into your lap eventually for cheap. Those items ain't anywhere near in over your head. But don't worry, the beastie will surprise you with something that will qualify. And when you are in over your head...keep swimming!

I have a 79 Nova 250 Offshore. Put new transom and stringers in her. Just put a fresh 357 mercruiser 325 hp in her. Almost all done. Looking for more years out of her. One of my cuddly Windows was cracked. Found a lil bit bigger frame and window. Works fine.

I bought this boat about 5 years ago, had some extensive work done. Now has a 2000 454 with a Bravo 3 leg... happy with the performance. attached is a few pics, never could get my seating figured out.
