I'm thinking about tackling this job myself and was hoping maybe somebody on the forum has done this before or has some instructions they would be willing to share. I understand how to run the new cable from the drive area to the front, but, I was wondering how difficult it is to get the cable itself attached to the dash indicator?
Any help or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Any pointers?
I just got into the dash on mine to replace the cables.
I was thinking I would pull it out like the engine controls, however it appears that there are stacked nuts standoffs to remove to pull the face thru the dash, that would be a nightmare to reassemble in the confined space.
There has to be a trick.....

Likewise on my Scarab III.
Just got them out. PIA!
- Removed the Slide plate: 4-3\8 nuts
- Removed the cable clip bracket: 2-3\8 nuts
-Pulled it back where I could get at cable ends. (Careful he pointers\springs come off when you do not want them to. .)
- Removed the pointer ends and all hardware: 3\8 nut, 5\16 backing nut.
- Removed the cable grip plate from the cable clip bracket: 3-5\16 Head with with3-3\8 nuts
- Slid the cables thru the Cable clip holes.
Only removed one Dash panel and the trim Switch panel (Probably did not need to do this...).
At one point I was ready to pull the other panel...
