Default Carbed 502 sort of laboring at full stick to the dash.

Not a big deal, but curious if this is an easy fix. With the throttle full open it seems to be running fine with 11.8 afr, but when I pull back a smidge it feels like the engine loosens up and picks up some revs, if that makes sense. The crappy oem tach isn't working, but last year this was happening at about 5400-5600 rpm.

Roughly 500hp, QF850M, Holley hv mech pump, 1/2" line from tank to pump, DUI ignition, Gaffrig SA. 7psi fuel pressure (can't verify at wot though).

Any thoughts? Do I need a bigger boat?
