Who is running big power using Merc ITS or Latham Marine
How much power for either and how long have you been running this set up. Positives and Negatives with 800 or more power installed ?
If I recall Merc really only rates the ITS to 600 hp or maybe 700 hp - I forgot exactly what the hp was.

I've got a 28' Nordic with ITS, going on 14 years old. I've gone through quite a few engines, from 600 to 950 HP. Never had a problem with the ITS, U joints and input shaft are original. I don't beat it hard in rough water but have made many 90+ mph runs with it.
