Default 525SC Oil Thermostat change out and oil line routing

Hey guys, I'm fixing to change the oil thermostats in a set of 525SC's and wanted to know the best way to do this? It looks like I could just un-bolt the oil adapter housing and I should have enough slack to get to the snap ring. Also does anyone have the oil adapter and oil cooler hose connection diagram, I have this diagram but it don't show the connection.

Thanks!!

525SC's were the Merc 454's with a 177 blower I believe..

F-2, They're Mercury Racing 525SC which is a 454 with a Wieland 177 blower making 5-6 psi boost.

Its been running higher then normal oil temps, I say the oil T-stats are probably original and I think there stuck or partially stuck and not recirculating the cooled oil from the cooler into the system.
