In 5 wks. (Aug. 20th) I'll be bringing my 35' Cig up to Lake George & since I have only a gaser dodge ram 2500 I'll be looking for other options in tow vechicles.
Besides U-SHIP (which I'll probabely end up using) was curious if there are tow truck rentals for short periods of time. I'll be in lake George for less than a week
and the distance from my door to Bolton's landing in LG is 263 miles (526 round trip) boat and trailer is in excess of 12,500 lbs.....thinking 1 ton diesel tow truck?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated ...or... posible tow offers as well..............thnx, Scippy

I rented a Ford 1-ton dually with the 6.2L gasser once, and it actually didn't tow half bad, albeit I was not towing anything heavy. Overall, it was a decent investment for the trip, and I didn't mind beating on someone else's truck. Triangle Rental Car company here in VA had them. You might see if any of your local Ford dealers have a rental program for trucks.

I wouldn't be worried about towing it with your truck as long as the trailer brakes are in good shape. We haul skid loaders every day with a 3500 Hemi, and despite burning a ton of fuel it pulls surprisingly well.

miles so add a few bucks there....with taxes total is close to $850 without ins. A 1 ton weekly rental is $600 + 30 a day tow fee with no free milage .25 charge every mile you drive .........maybe my truck afterall
