Default Ideas on changing OEM propeller on my 2003 Baja Outlaw 25 with 496 mag Mercruiser

I was wanting ideas on changing my 3 blade OEM propeller on my 2003 Baja Outlaw 25 with 496 mag Mercruiser and bravo drive. Everything is stock from what I see. Any ideas on changing the propeller and pitch? Include photos if you can. Thanks

Stock prop, I think should be a 23 Mirage Plus. What is your goal and what are your current rpms and gps speed??

I just got the boat and am working out some issues. Speedometer not currently working and no gps on the boat yet. Engine has a miss so I'm working on that problem so I've kept rims low. The prop has several chunks out of it from hitting bottom. I don't know what the pitch is and what's recommended for what I want. I would like something to hopefully increase speed and plane out faster. Also, let's stay $600 and below

sorry im late to the party, but im going through this now. i started with a 4 blade 24 pitch, does really well. the fastest i have had mine was 2 years ago (dec 2015)
68 by the gps. now when i saw that, i thought S.O.B......now my gps is broke. but it kept bouncing from 68 to 67. it was the colder air, no head wind and the bay was
pretty flat. normal top speed is 65. recently i bought a prop online mainly to have as a spare. i bought a 23 pitch 3 blade. after talking to somebody about it and majorly
confused even more, i tried it out. what i have found is my rpms are higher now but i lost top end speed. so i think i need a 25 pitch 3 blade. dont quote me on that because
i am not a prop expert, more like a prop retard. learning as i go along. i have a 2005 25 outlaw with 496 mag ho.

Saying 4 blade and 3 blade means nothing without the make of the prop.

Stock prop should be a 23 Mirage Plus.
68 mph from a 25 Outlaw with a 496HO is about all you are going to get in ideal conditions.

the 3 blade is a quicksilver mirage, the 4 blade is a mercury bravo 1. i agree on the 68, i doubt that will ever happen again. that was a one in a million chance that day.
i should have played the lottery that day for sure. when i bought the boat, it had the 4 blade on it. so let me ask, would a 3 blade 25 pitch be any better? 4 blade the rpm's are about 5100, the 3 blade is going higher. not really sure because i dont have a scanner but i have heard a couple of beeps, wondering if that was my rev limiter alarm? if the 25 wont do any good, soon as i get it back from prop shop, its going back on and i wont bother with 25.

Did I miss the pitch of the Bravo 1? If it's hittin' around 5100, it's not going to get much better than that, whatever the pitch is, as Griff said. I am running a Rev 4 21 on my 502 and it hits right at 5100 at WOT. I am going to try my spare R4 23 while it's cold and see how it does. If it does ok, then I may try it next spring and summer. 3 blade is technically faster than a 4 blade, but if you turn 65- 68 with a bone stock 496, it ain't too bad. If your Mirage 23 is bumping the rev limiter, a 25 might get you another mph or so (or not), but your holeshot will suffer. You will probably drop 300-400 rpm at WOT with the bigger prop, but you will be within acceptable rpm range.

As stated, you are only guessing without current performance data. If your current prop is Merc, the part # and pitch should be stamped on the back side of the hub. Propping a boat is a give and take thing. Give something up to get something. Faster planing means less top end in almost all cases. Better top end means worse hole shot. Find a prop that gives you good compromise performance (middle to top of the rpm range for your motor) or carry one for holeshot and another for speed. JMO.....

A labbed 25 Mirage Plus might get you a couple mph on top speed. It won't be as good of an all around prop though.
