does anyone know where i can get one of these? The main stud stripped so i cant tighten the cable down. The ones ive found online have mounting screws on the end. Mine has 3 that screw into the side.
No part # in it anywhere. Mark iv 502.

In the old days you take the cap off and replace the studs. This cap is installed by pressing (in a press) the edges of solenoid body over the cap. Designed to be non-repairable. And I have seen a pic,of a solenoid like this only once. You want in the water now auto ports store. 78 chebby pick up with 454 starter. 30 to 50 bucks. Or marine place. 100 to 300.

Lol. Yea i havnt had to much luck lately. This one was on borrowed time to begin with. The threads basically just unwinded from the stud.
Ill probably just bite the bullet and replace the starter.

Geez. Never had this much trouble finding a starter or solenoid before. I cant find anything that looks like mine. Is cause i have a bowtie block?
im gonna try to tap new threads on it tonight but if for what ever reason it wont work id like to find a replacement. Ill pull the starter off tonight and look for a part # if i have to.
