Need a surveyor for mechanical and structural inspection on a boat in Sattler, TX. Lake is Canyon Lake, TX. Moisture testing is a must as well as full mechanical.
I think BUP is in the area, but I don't know how far.

about 280 miles away from me. What is the timeframe and boat app with engine(s) ??. Can not free up till 6 days from today.
I have everything including moisture meters, scan tools for every freakin marine gas engine on the planet and all related marine special tools for most everything. And I also have a couple of clip boards as well. haha
I have free flights as well but sometimes the TSA really gives me a hard time with my luggage and its contents.

Single engine 271 formula. The boat is not at the users house and right now he is thinking the best timeframe would be Friday 7/28 or on Thursday's in August. Would ya like to PM me with fees, etc.?

Fees depends on how deep you want me to go with the boat and mechanical side inspections. Now lets say I find something like a deal breaker at anytime frame thru out the check out even if its 15 mins into it. I stop and call the person paying for the inspection with the bad news. At that point its up to that person if I continue or not. The min for my time is 300 dollars even if the deal breaker issue(s) are found in short order timeframes plus another 125 to 250 dollars in travel time / gas / tolls / and so forth to get to the boat. .
With that said I check the bigger things first ie compression / run on water and or on water hose / shifting / if applicable water leaks / rot / and or structure issues. / impact damage. The reason for the bare min of 300 dollars is because I have to load up so much stuff and travel with it. All that takes time away from my home base.. I actually look at the boat per purchase inspections like a freakin homicide detective. When working on boats one really has to be a detective and always look outside the box. I have always practice this since day one. Boats are different animals than anything else on the market for servicing.
Again the inspection cost wise depends on how far the buyer wants me to dig. - Are we pulling the drive for transom inspection and checking alignment and all related items on that end ? Are we leak down testing the engine ? are we scanning the engine and spending the hour going over all what that means , are we running fuel pressure tests ? Are we lake testing if applicable and or have to travel to a distant boat ramp ? Are we draining the gear oil and then pressure testing the outdrive and then I have to refill outdrive with new gear oil. Are we checking out the trailer as well ? If so I like to bring a jack, Very hard to give an exact price without knowing some of these questions.
Single engine apps without travel usually cost ranges 600 to 1200 dollars. Is about the norm for many that I have done. Some buyers want me to dig deeper than others. Also depending on the price of the boat seems to play a huge role how far a buyer wants me to dig and what he is willing to spend for an inspection..
Some buyers even want me to cut open filters - oil and fuel filters for inspection - some do, just saying. I also picture and video take most of it and send if need to be. All that takes time as well.
