Never, they are sealed.

Sealed batteries here too but I carry a bottle of distilled water anyway, a little splash of it with Whisky is great.

Once a year for my lead acid batteries.

I doubt you have a on board charger in your Cobalt? 2 batteries & an alternator. Check them twice a year @ most. They aren t getting cycled too hard with using the stereo system,blower & starting motor.
