prop size

I have a 1989 32 ' Wellcraft St. Tropaz with small blocks and inboard shaft drives. How do I find out what was spect'd for this boat out of the factory? Do any of you know? I bought the boat and had the existing props cleaned up 16 pitch 3 blades but he said they were a mess and the diameter was cut. I have no idea where to start.

a quick google, wellcraft st. tropez propellor size, got me 17 x 16. w/ smallblocks.
i would have to think they are michigan wheels standard bronze and should be marked from the factory
i cant remember but i think inboard props were also marked for shaft size, (my guess is 1 1/4 shaft)
customers bought a lot of 4 blades and kept the old set as spares. the 4 blades ran much smoother
don't forget to check you cutlas bearings and shaft run out.
correct the engine alignment after shes back in the water and slipped over night

that is correct diameter is listed first
I deal everyday with wakeboard boats and cruisers as well. I receive great feedback using these brand of props . I am a dealer for them and also get special pricing on certain apps
Look over their info and tech about their props.

what's needed to get the correct prop is - year model and make / model of the boat, engine brand, set up, horsepower, max rpms / rpm range and transmission gear ratio, rotation of the prop, also if you know weight of the boat in running form.
Acme Props has a lot of testing calculations ---- which prop would work best for the apps. Very recently the latest feedback was for a boat I set up -- a twin engine app Sea Ray Cruiser and the owners said these were the best and smoothest running props for their boat. I get a lot of positive feedback using these props.
Anyways if you are interested in this brand of props - I could help you out. Also they have made a set for Arneson as well.
Also for inboard and V drive prop installs - buy valve lapping compound - rub the VLC on the propshaft were the prop will ride fully installed - do not install the keyway - install prop fully and spin the prop around the propshaft for lapping the prop to the shaft. You are lapping in more surface contact area from the prop to the tapered prop shaft. Clean all areas well and install key way and prop correctly. Do not use any oils or grease on the propshaft. Needs to be installed clean and completely dry. Anyways have no idea who knows this already or not, so I posted this info.
