What's up everybody? I'm new to the forum and also just bought a 2008 Fountain Lightning 38 (full stagger.) curious what props other owners are running with 525s, and speeds and what elevation? Just took my boat to lake powell (3700 ft) and it's a dog and will barely get on plane with maximus 35 pitch props. Also I've heard some different techniques on getting these staggered boats out of the hole?

High "X" dimensions on staggered set ups can cause planning issues.
If you are running Maximus props, you have one of the best options for planning. I say this without knowing what has been done to the propellers.
If they are stamped 35, someone has worked on them since 34 is the largest casting offered. Mercury will offer a Labbed 35 but it is a 34 with a slightly different configuration.
Ultimately, spacers will get you up and going better than just propellers. Sometimes it is best to make the boat friendlier and lose a few mph than to struggle to get on plane.
I try to talk people into spacers often and the major majority of time the boater leaves happier.
If you desire, we have a spacer plate test program. Or, you can call us and we will do our best to help improve your setup.
