I went from St. Pete to Key West, door-to-door in 6 hours flat...

You could do it in about 4 at the speed limit, 3.5 pushing it a little.
Keep in mind, once you leave Miami, US1 is bounces between 35-45mph with an occasional 55.

Mapquest sucks for ETA's. It said It should take me like 9.5 hours...ya, okay.

My experience is about 4 1/2 hours. BD is correct you have different speed zones and construction when you get close to Key West.

Once your past miami area and get onto the keys it is only one road that is two lanes... Your have varying speed zones and can get caught behind that all anoying slow mover at times... so the 4.5 hours is about right...

Randy, it all depends on the traffic. If you go prime time holiday weekend, it could be that long. If you do it in the off time no more than 3 and a half hours. It is a beautiful ride so it feels like it goes a lot faster.

From my experience, about 4 to 4-1/2 hours depending on traffic and how fast you want to go above the speed limit. From Lauderdale to Key largo can be done in about 1-1/2 - 2 hours. After you hit the keys traffic can be terrible. Only two lanes and sometimes down to 1.

Randy, that is a dark road in a lot of places, cops love to hide. Tell them to be careful. At that time of night I would say 3-3.5 hours.

Always leave early so you don't have to sweat being on time. It is really a beautiful ride if you're not in a hurry.

My personal best is 6 hours at night from St Pete to Marathon.
