I don't post on here often, but I know that the boating community as a whole is a community that helps others, as we are good hearted people by nature.
One of my good friends drove from Ft. Lauderdale last Friday to Atlanta to pick up his brother-in-law, and they took a tow truck & 2 jet skis, drove through the night to SE Texas, and have been rescuing people every day this week...They did this on their own time & dime, and are not looking for a handout...But they are faced with having to pick up and leave because they are running out of money for hotels, food, fuel, etc...
If you are able to help them out with $5-$10 or whatever you can do, I know they would appreciate it very much. If you can't donate anything, please at least shae their campaign....
These guys have rescued over 100 people this week so far, and are out there 15-16 hours a day...
If you follow Jim Harchar on FB, he puts up multiple images/videos every day...It is horrible down there...
Thanks guys (& gals) and everyone enjoy a safe Labor Day Weekend!

Thanks ^^^^ - I am not directly in the bad flood of SE Texas. Will add for the past 3 days I have received prob close to 100 calls for donations of marine batteries, ropes, Life jackets, anchors, even boats to donate / or my time with a boat in my hands to help. I had special interest groups call wanting to rent boats plus Insurance companies called looking for help on the damage boat claims when that time was allowable. Anyways I did go to a remote site to check out some small outboard boats that were heading down to the SE Texas areas however to help out. The boats were checked for sea worthy, load test batteries and engine running checkouts along with other checks as quick as I could. I donated my time and gas plus brought a few parts like breakers, fuses, bilge pumps also 2 stroke and 4 stroke outboard engine oil plus tools.

If you turn on the weather channel they are showing what Houston looks like today. Lots of folks are in the "salvage stage" of clearing/drying out their homes, traffic flowing on highways and huge meal distribution operations set up (one BBQ themed one was going to serve 40,000 meals today).
It hasn't rained in 3 days, waters are receding. Not too many jet ski rescues going on.

Actually, there are tons of rescues going on.
South of Houston there are many areas with even further rising water. Remember, the rivers go down to the ocean.
