Looking at a 2003 Sonic 260. I'm over 9 hrs away from it. Should I get a survey done on it or have someone experienced with performance boats meet me? Any recommendations for a surveyor or someone here in the Pittsburgh area that would like to look at a boat? Would also like to know the overall condition and how clean the boat is? Any scratches, dings, chips, smells, etc.

^^^^^ mechanical indepth of engines, EFI systems along with other performance installs plus all that diagnostics is not the best for any of that. ^^^^^
Some even have never done a compression test for marine apps nor will they especially on side by side twin engine apps. If they say they would do all compression testing on twins have them send the videos of all of it. All 16 cylinders. See what answers one would get.
On the 260 Sonic here - I understand single engine app. I would ask about a comp test and a leak down test as well. and most likely it has a 496 installed being a 2003.
