Freshen up an OL 1.65 drive or find OM 1.5 drive?

Freshen up an OL 1.65 drive or find OM 1.5 drive?
I have a '97 OL Bravo1 with 1.65 gears with maybe 700 hours on it with now ~ 550hp turning it. Im currently over revving with my current props and was wondering if it's worthwhile to keep the existing drive (I hear that they have better gears) or find a newer OM drive with the common 1.5 which should put me in a sweet spot with my current collection of props.
