Default Awesome Cat/American Offshore 31 Porpoise Question

I have read that these boats will porpoise in flat water at certain speed ranges. I'm sure those ranges depend on the power. I've also read that you can "drive through it" in most cases. Is this an example of the porpoise or is this extreme? Maybe too much trim?

the 26 american offshore is a center pod boat so it will stop porpoise at a much slower speed than a 26 awesome cat because the awesome is a true cat and raises then releases the trapped air then falls back in the water and repeats this untill enough speed is maintained to keep the tunnel packed with air,my buddy,s awesome bounces until about 90 mph,my old 26 ao felt like it was on a cloud of air around 40 mph.

try enclosing the url with [ video ] and [ / video ] but remove all the spaces in my html text

would look like this:

So, my main question, is the porpoise/hop in the video "normal" or excessive?

Looks like he is driving the boat right in the "meat" of the hop zone and maintaining that speed in the video. That amount of hop is what should be expected, but only for a short duration. It will start with less, increase with speed, then reduce until no hop at higher speed. I have seen some cats that were under-powered that could not get out of the hop zone. JMO
