OK, from reading endless threads I've been convinced to not risk useing the Silent Choice riser system with the 454/420's I'm installing this winter so using EMI manifold and high wet risers with transom exits I have a couple questions some of you may be able to help with :
1. What mufflers fit under a Fountain molded swim platform ? I'm thinking there may be a restriction with the underside of the platform and I cannot get to my hull to measure anything now.
OR
2. How long of a turn down for the same equipment and maintain some noise reduction at idle/off plane ? Or do turn downs somehow also contribute to reversion ?
Thanks, ed

Go loud or go home!!!!! Just playin but have you been in a fountain with Gil, emi type manifolds? Relatively quiet in a ftn with built in swim platform. Just speaking from past experience I would leave it until you get new exhaust installed and then decide unless your determined now. I bet your excited to back on the water. Hope to run into you up there in the bay someday.

We flogged the old engines this past summer but there were a number of one engine rides as stuff broke down. Seemed like every accessory is worn out and problematic with 1100 hours on the engines. Kept doing chicken wire and duct tape repairs to get through the season knowing fresh power was going in. Around August I got a bunch of bad fuel from one of the marina gas docks which caused additional problems. Was glad to end the season with three late outings in early October.

That's to bad but been there. Hopefully someone will have some knowledge on the swim platforms to help you out. I went back in time to a 12 meter w/o so have some more flexibility but not as practical. We had two with but never investigated internally.
