No, as a matter of fact we are in discussions with a new sponsor for doing maybe three real open ocean racing style races again next year.

I'm done, with having this boat around without making much progress on it after these many years.

Have pretty much located all the original, or period correct pieces, it is ready for someone who wants to own one of the most famous race boats, from the era when offshore racing was really that, long distances, navigation.

Finished and this boat will be the top attraction at poker runs and high performance events for 20% of the money of a new look alike cat or deep vee. And that is before you might open the engine hatches to show off those beautiful injector stacks on the engines.

That would be a cool boat to own.

If someone has modern stuff, engines drives etc they can rig the boat quickly. Plus it comes with the Awlgrip paint ready to go.

One of our HORBA members has it and is in the restoration process.

There seems to be more being done now than a few years ago.

Ghost Rider 1966 undefeated World Champion boat has been restored by HORBA board member Barry Cohen
The Gentry boat was just finished out in California and they are doing a 35 Cigarette race boat now.
The big Popeyes boat is over in Sarasota and is done.
The Still Crazy boat was done a few years ago.
The Bounty Hunter Cigarette the 39 footer, was back in action but over in Europe.
Dry Martini the 35 Cigarette is done and over in England
I know of a 41 Apache that was a World Champion boat that has been in restoration for a while.
The 36 foot Cigarette Slap Shot, was racing lately as Dirty Pearl, but it has been sold and the new owner is doing a restoration.
Needle Nose the 38 Bertram has been restored in Florida.
Steve Berk has the old Great Adventure a 30 Sutphen
Tim Sheehan has his BUSCH 30 foot Sutphen
The 39 Cigarette of Nordskog's was sold in Tampa a few years ago to a guy in NJ That was his CAM record setting race boat.

Betty Cook's KAAMA is being restored as the Scarab 38 foot in the USA and the 36 foot Cigarette in England.
The old 38 foot Bertram Natural Light was restored as Bertram Competition 38 and sold overseas
The 38 foot Bertram Vincentive is for sale in Florida.
The Maritime aluminum turbine boat in Colorado, just needs engines.

That is one of the things we are trying to do along with starting a real offshore circuit, is to have a place for the old boats to be seen and run again for all those who have never seen them.

Ocean Reef has a very nice Vintage Festival every year for Planes, Cars and Boats and I know that a few of the restored boats have been going to that.
