As the title says; does anyone have experience drilling and tapping the water jacket on Brodix BBC aluminum heads in order to install zinc anodes? Thanks.

you can always use the coolant temp sensor ports in the heads as a location to put zincs as well. without drilling

Thanks but not on Brodix heads I dont think.

I'd just put them in the intake coolant passages. I drilled out the back of my intakes and tapped them NPT.

I've always thought about this as it's easy, however it is not contacting the heads per say. This is where I get confused with anodes. Do you have more info on this so I can understand better ?

Heads bolts, brackets and fasteners are connecting them all together. (continuity)
Also, people might want to use Magnesium in fresh water.

I've seen what they call pencil anodes and come in various npt 1/8, 1/4, 3/8 and so on. Looks like a pocket on the brodix heads forward and above front exh port. Drilling in from the front would be ideal however accessories would be on the way. How about in the rear water jackets. You could go in easily without issues that I can see. Since there's not many with first hand experience I'm just trying to help.

that was my initial thought but like SB was getting at I wasn't certain the cast, steel, SS etc would effect the anode. Will have to read up on your link. I do recall two different anodes you don't want to mix but nothing to do with this.

It was zinc and aluminum anodes on the same boat. xxxx
