Default Nortech roadster 3600 vs other similar cats

I am thinking about buying a nortech 36 roadster. How does everyone feel about them? Are they good riding boats?. Do they hold up? Compared to a eliminator, skater, or outerlimits? Pros and cons. Any help would be appreciated . Someone told me they don't ride very good and not good in the rough water..

Two biggest complaints heard are the porpoise at cruise speeds and the cockpit is small for the size of the boat which I can say I found true as well.

I seen the small cockpits. I wonder if some extension boxes will help out with the porpoise. And also really important. Are they known for blowing over???

Talk to Eddie Young he has had experience in them , I believe he said they are a driver,s boat or had to work at it to make it respond properly . They are big and wide for sure .

I believe I heard Eddie Young say that was his all time favorite boat to drive. I personally think they are beautiful boats. If I had more money I’d buy one.

My buddy had a 36 NorTech w/ 1075s that I spent time in, and I also raced a 36 Skater. The NorTech has a substantial midrange porpoise (70-100) that the Skater 36 does not, and it is not near as fast with the same power (especially acceleration) - mostly because they are very heavy boats. The NorTech is a bigger boat than the 36 Skater, but as others have said, the cockpit is relatively small, and awkward with the small windshield - visibility out of the back of a NorTech 36 is not good. No doubt that NorTech builds a beautiful boat though - still much more modern looking than a classic deck/quarter canopy Skater 36 of the same year. And I've never heard of a NorTech blowing over - I don't think you could blow one over, as they are such a heavy cat.

What he said... You won't blow one over but the porpoise is a bit of an issue. You have to push the boat past that point and depending on power you may have a little bit of trouble doing so. If it is less than 800hp per side then it is even more difficult and you have to run the engines pretty hard to stay there. As far as the extension box goes all SSM 6 drives are essentially on an extension box and if you are looking a one of the few Bravo boats they made then that is another conversation.
