Default The new Mercury outboards, pricing, etc.

All the details of the new outboards and pricing information. Some speculation on new models for Mercury Racing too!

Interesting comment since I don't recall any "official" notification

This makes life difficult for Evinrude, the G2’s are great engines, just a little heavy compared to these new Mercs. But, in the 250 HP and 300 HP, the G2’s are still leading in efficiency and performance, the discontinued 300 XS notwithstanding. The only thing new Evinrude had in Miami was some outrageous cowling graphics.

The Yamaha and Suzuki teams were all over the new engine on Thursday. A short video of the display.

A lot of people have asked how they made it so light, the answer is that Mercury has one of the most sophisticated high pressure casting machines available, and is one of the keys to making the block so light.
