Anybody hear mercury coming out with new moter. 450-500hp moter but not 400r beefed up.A completey new moter?I hear one is in the works

I live in Panama City, FL and Mercury has a test facility here and they have been running/testing more than usual lately. I saw a single what looked like a 400R on the back of a 27+ foot Velocity hull and it was moving. They are testing big outboards a lot more than usual lately so I would not be surprised if this is accurate. I would not think its a whole new motor, likely a 400R with more power. I will try and get some pics when Im out tomorrow, but the test drivers get pissy when I run too close to them.

I would be surprised if they made the jump from 400 right to 500. If anything the next engine will be a 450 imo.

The 400R is maxed out in it's current configuration. Anything above and beyond will be completely new.
