Hello from France

hello I registered a few days ago on your forum I have a baja 250 ess of 1989 and I am the owner for more than 20 years. i try to rebuild my engine, i have a big block 502 ci mercruiser a carburetor, block boowtie hiperf pass 4 bolts, i give you the casting block number 100511107, it was realerer at 4.530 inches and the crankshaft was rectifying to 0 , 20, I buy JE pistons. ref 338167 pistons, and segments JE s100s8-4530 / 5, forged eagle forged brand rods for 700 horsepower, I also buy heads of art pro 1 ref 19200032 with admission valves of 2,300 inches and exhaust valves 1,880 inches. These breeches were grinded at 0.40mm, which is 0.01574 inches, because they had a valve accident, I give you all its indications to have advice for the continuation of my reconstruction, purchase of a camshafts, a distribution sets and all that may be suitable for a nice engine I would like to have 600 horses I go back motor full roller thank you in advance for your advice because here in France your boat is not very rependu and for the boat mechanics high performance knows even more complicate thanks again for your reponsent

Ok I will give this a go.
You appear to be tried to rebuild a big block Chevy with about 502 cubic inch displacement.
The problem is the language barrier and the fact you are using part numbers that don’t matchup to what you are saying.
The block number you mentioned has one more didget then it needs to and your piston number comes back as pins etc.

In fact you should probably Just ask about what part you need help with and state the specs of the engine.

For example.
Title :What camshaft and timing set for a 502

Message:Im building a 502 Chevy with 10 to 1 compression and AFR magnum 325cc heads .boat has stainless marine exhaust which is dry to the tips.and dont ski etc.I would like to know what camshaft and chain you folks would recommend.

The above type of post will get you responses but the one you are making just has most confused and really who wants to look up a bunch of numbers just to find out what you could have just told us.

thank you for your answer, the cylinder heads are quite dart; pistons JE ref pistons (338167) 4,530 bore, strock 4,00 inch rod lengt 6,135 inch; the intake manifold is of mercruiser origin of 502 (ref gm 6269318); for the carbu mercruiser I do not regerder the ref, but I think to buy a carburetor quick fuel 750 cfm thank you to convincor and warship 2k15 for m to answer, yes I'm looking what to put as camshafts

Here's the pistons- https://www.jepistons.com/Catalogs/S...placement.aspx
If the head is in fact the 19200132 , should be at about 9:1 compression
As Warship2k15 says what exhaust you have?
Does you block have provision for cam thrust plate?

An 850 cfm carb would be much better for your engine and will make more HP.

A good camshaft choice would be a Crane 168741

Its not excessive. Its almost identical to the Merc 525EFI cam.
The only difference is the 525EFI cam has a 114 Lob sep.
