Hello
I mount single motor 600SCi in my Boat and want to use Y pipes with switchable diverters!
Is it possible to use the prop exhaust for some minits with low Rpm to drive out of harbour and so??
I dont want to drive fast with closed diverters, but need at the start of turn!
The 600/662 has not this big cam like the 525/700,so i can do without any problems?
Hope some can tell me what they use! michael

We have 600SCIs in our Fountain 38. The exhaust was completely replaced on stbd, modified tails and welded shut on port. Due to reversion stbd engine was completely rebuilt, and port had top end done and showed signs of reversion. Removed all the switchable exhaust and ran straight tails no mufflers with flaps, works perfect.

Ok thanks for let me know! I have heard before that staggerd engine often have this problem!
Did you use the switchable diverter also at drive with some RPM??
My way to transom ist not 2 feet at all!
Need it only to use in harbour or so!

Reversion actually happened on starboard, the short tails to transom, the pipework would be the same length as your single Baja. The system was never used and after the failure got rid of it. It just isnt a good design for 525/600/700 use, too much danger of reversion. If you have noise restrictions run turn down tips or use the insert discs made for high hp applications .

A Feedback!
I get a set corsa and a set orginal CMI diverters! the CMi are much better build than the corsa. The mixture from water is extrem wide back in the diverter and in the from where it mount on the header is a smaller tube to hold back any reversion.
I have now take of the headers from my motor and there is abolut no sign of reversion.
I think this combi will work good. With Corsa diverters you real can get a problem i think too!
I have them compared and they are easy build and not this safe way like CMI.
I get the CMI diverters tubes new without Aircylinder. So i start to make better elektric hub cylinders on them. open to close in 1,5 seconds and at end posiotion the stop automatic!! Also the CMI have no Pin or Plate where the hard stoped like CORSA do and break. So this system will last for ever,as you know Corsa diverters have often broken plates in them.
Only thing is the price from set CMI but i get them real low so all good!

By the Way it was not a 5 minute job to use the electric hub cylinders. You can get them in 2 inch 50mm hub and stop automatic at both ends. But 50mm is a bit to wide for the plates.they beginn to open again with them!So i build new levers in the cmi that are a bit longer and now the 2 inch hub is exact the way from close to open the diverter.
I make prototyps in alloy and when i have right lenght i build new ones from stainless steel.in pic above you the the alloy ones and here the endproduct.
Good is that i can now closed the diverters only half or so as i want! I mount no permanent ON-Off swith only a momentary ones. So they stop at the moment when put finger away from switch!
