sold a 1500$ hull only glastron carlston 2001 and he saw my triple 45 sonic... not for sale at all! Not for sale because it is pretty much the only boat i can stand in cabin sleep 4-5 in cabin and 2 on engine hatch because triple makes the hatch 6 foot plus long from transon to back seat, plus gives a larger cockpit than a 38 or 42
THE GUy IS HOOKED!!!
what other boat could offer similar convenience?

If you really like the boat tell the guy it is not for sale but keep in mind if he is truly a serious prospect give it some thought. A 18 year old triple engine sonic is not going to sell easily now or later down the road no matter how nice it is. I'm a Sonic guy myself and think they are great boats and not prone to fall apart. They are flawed and slower than a lot of others but they get you back safely in all sorts of conditions.

He is offering 80k canadian, wich becomes like 62k US if i want to shop on your side. Spent 35k on transom gimball and engine rebuilt last year... my plan was to keep it for much longer! And i cant find similar boat for similar 60 k, besides some black thunder in the 70k us wich brings me 30% higher with trade rate plus another 15% taxes...
i know about the not so easy to sell for older straight bottom triple, wich is the only reason i might consider thinkink about it...

Your decision. Depends on what you want to do. I have seen triple boats, sit, sit and sit some more, and the prices drop. But if you are happy with it and have good reliability and know exactly what you have then enjoy it and move on. If you were thinking at all about selling, this maybe your opportunity. And an easy one at that if this is a real buyer. Hard these days for people to finance older machines, so they often have small personal loans from a credit union and cash which is a great situation. Problem for you might be having a summer with no machine, better deals are often found in the end of the season/Fall.
Black Thunder comes to mind for size and cabin.
Its all what you want

Well, what else would you want out of a boat? Faster maybe?
There was a 45 Sonic that I saw recently that had triple 700s in it or something. There was also one "46' Sonic" that pops up for sale from time to time, that had an additional swim platform added on; big power, along with the full arch.
Edit, 46' Sonic is in the OSO Classifieds:

If I had a 45 Sonic that I was totally happy with, I wouldn't give it up for a Black Thunder. Your next option would be a Formula 400SS or a Fountain 48 Express Cruiser. But both of those are solid steps up in size of boat and cost; and neither are something you would want to regularly trailer around.
I also forgot about the Fountain 47' Lightning. They pop up occasionally as well.

If a guy wanted to buy my boat and had the cash I was looking for, he'd be leaving with a boat. Key point is the cash "I was looking for".
There are lots of boats for sale - however, if you want all of that room, then maybe you should just keep what you have (if you really love it).
