Default fuel line/rail leak

im putting my 98 454 gen 6 mpi mag back together after having the heads rebuilt. I have a fuel leak were the fuel line goes into the fuel rail. I lost the original O-ring so I put a normal 1/2" o ring in and now it doesn't seal. is the original o-ring a special kind or am I doing something wrong?

thanks

Dave

I would use the Merc ones. Had same issue on one of my 502 MPI's GEN V but ended up being the injector closest to the rail look closely if you haven't already lol.

Haha. It's definitely the were the fuel line enters the fuel rail. I couldn't get any o-rings I had in my kit to work.

I ended up using a valve seal, it sealed up perfect. I'm not thrilled with the idea but we are leaving for vacation in 2 days and I won't beable to get one fast enough so it's gonna have to work until we get back. Any thoughts on using a valve seal? Anybody have any reason why it's a bad idea?
