Default Cable steering safe?

At what point is the standard cable and power rack steering unsafe? Is it hp or speed or both that limit its use?
My application is a 21' single bbc 500hp bravo.
The boat originally had 330hp BBC/bravo.
Am I ok with the stock power steering?
ill be using two different drives (B1 and B3).
So top speed will vary but mainly kept under 60mph.
Might see that one time run to see what she can do and maybe see 70mph. But my water conditions are normally 1-2' seas so top speed runs are gunna be rare.

So your telling me you put a 500 hp motor in a 21 foot boat and your going to keep it under 60?? Are you lying to me or to yourself?

Thats like telling your fellow alcoholic your only going to have 1 beer........

I put full hydraulic on my 22 foot boat and at 60 it is a night and day difference. Especially with that B3, your gimble is going to live a much happier and longer life with hyd steering too...

Probably safe at those speeds, however the internal ram does not have the same control over the outdrive as an add-on or full hydraulic system. With external steering you will have no side to side play and that in itself can help reduce chine walk if that's a problem,

I haven't used the boat yet so speed results are unknown at this point. But it's intended purpose is towing. I may have overshot the towing theory though. Lol.
But it's my understanding that the bravo 3 drives hit a wall at or about 60-65 mph so that's why I'm figuring 60 as top speed.

For example, a 21 Hammond or Stryker with 500hp is a 90mph boat so be aware.

500hp pushes my my pig of a boat 272 Islander to 63 with a Bravo 1. If possible put on full hydraulic steering now. Most people wish that was the first thing they did to their boat. I tow wakeboarders and tubers just fine with a single 4 blade prop.

My 22 velocity with 500 hp runs 78 on the cable steering. Its a hand full and likes to chine walk but if you drag a little tab it all goes away. Is it safe? No. Can it be done yes.

This 21' boat is a bow rider Donzi.
It has an 8.5' beam rather than the typical 8' beam.
I don't think it will be as efficient at speed as the others you have described but......
it did go 58mph with the bravo 1 and 330hp setup.

As for a full hydraulic setup. If was shopping for a setup what is the proper search words to use?
i would like to check out the used market.
This is not an expensive boat plus I didn't have this as part of the original equation/budget.

i don't even have tabs. The boat never had them.
Needed? Wtf is going on here? This isn't even funny.
Seems I should have gone with less hp.
