Default rear cover leak

After storing my 33 sea ray last season I found oil leaking out of the Bravo 1 lower unit at the rear cover. It appears that water has entered the rear cover on the lower unit and froze. The covers were cracked. Were can the water enter the shift linkage area. Has this happen to anyone else? Please advise.
