Color matching gel coat
#1
Doing some hole filling trying to match my gel. Area has been wet sanded for matching. Gel is a slight off white. It’s not an off white cream like Sea Rays and Regals. I’ve purchased pure white gel, yellow, black and brown tints. Started with only yellow tint. Got close enough on 1st batch for several spots, but need a slight more cream white for the arch. Started off with yellow only again, with a few drops more. But now the mix has a pink hue to it. Tried adding more white, but that just seems to make it worse. A search has shown some say yellow used , others say start with brown, to get an off white. Looking for opinions on which anyone has had good results with, and also what to add to loose the pinkish.
spectrum colors does not have my match to use for a starting point. Thanks

Order a at of oyster white, and arctic or snow white. Problem with tinting gel is if you go to far throw it out and start again. There is almost no coming back. I just did a few repairs on a sea ray, luckily oyster white matches perfect so I was able to make the match and blend.

I'll be honest, the professionals will probably flame me for this. But the color of my wellcraft is like off white kind of like it had a little caramel color to it. I added polyester resin to my white and it looks real close to my clean sidewalls.
