so, I am a very diy boater. Maintenance to repairs to, well, you name it. So, with that being said, how many of you have built your own covered storage? I am in Texas, the sun sucks, the Heat is oppressive and it rains mud... before I buy another boat (I am fairly set on one of two, same length different manufacturers) I would like to build a covered storage .

I have a levelled piece of the yard where I parked boats before, but even covers can't keep Texas out. Was thinking of a pole type setup with a roof similar to the house to keep it clean. Prengineered trusses seem to be a good way to go, I am assuming 24 OC... anyhow, just wanted to see of any of you crazy cats have any experiences to share...pics are cool too... thanks all!

Maybe better off skipping the trusses and just building a tilted roof with sheet metal screwed down to the roof for wind sheer. Depending on how wonder it gets there make it able to sustain 120 to 140mph plus.

If you have the room and money, Build it mini Barn style. Then you can add lean to sides one it later.

I don't know about your community, but in my town, the city has been awful to work with to get the all clear to build anything.

How much does something like that cost?
