Default new steering wheel

Hey guys, I want to change my steering wheel on my savage. Can,t get the old one off. That big bolt just keeps spinning, not really sure how to remove the old wheel. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Chris

Do you mean the center nut is spinning?? and not coming off??

Does you new wheel use a different hub??? You will need to use gear puller to get the hub off but the wheel has to be removed from the hub first.

Yes I have to change the hub. The problem is it looks like a big bolt instead of a nut that keeps spinning. Looks like it goes through the rack and pinion. I think that's what it's called. Do you have any idea what brand steering it might be? its original

It should look something like this if its hyd Latham Marine
Even cable systems are basically the same. Its a tapered keyed shaft with a nut.

No it doesn't look like that. I have the twin piston hydraulic assist. I'm going to try and figure out how to post pictures. Stay tuned and thanks.

Not sure what you have. I had twin ram hyd add on steering on my Pantera with a cable helm.
I changed that wheel and it was the same tapered keyed shaft that my full hyd helm that my AT has.
