Default 2018 GM DEF tank

Anyone relocated the def tank on the current Dmax HD? The previous ones were ugly but tolerable, the new ones are downright hideous. I'm tall so I don't use the steps that come with the Denali but when removed all you see is the huge tank hanging below the frame rail. Also heard that the new duramax has some serious encryption that supposedly can't be cracked, no delete option? Thanks

Their encryption will not be cracked. They are using an NSA level encryption module. ALL light duty trucks will be encrypted sooner than later. I work in this field.
The only thing that will likely happen is a complete aftermarket operating system and hardware for said trucks.

There is a relocation kit for it. It's not a simple procedure that you can DIY.

Coming soon, to the spare tire location:

Put the step bars back on. They look way better than the DEF tank

The encryption must be tough. I have had my 18 Duramax for almost 6 months and even Bullydog doesn't have a tune for it yet.

With the steps it pretty well hides it. Just keep the steps on

I remember when they said that the 15 trucks couldn't be, and well look at them know. Give it time and someone will do it, it just wont be cheap.

I know the field. My company works with several of the major automotive manufactures and their suppliers on this topic; validating the software, safety, and encryption.
2015 trucks had a passcode you had to get by. Once that leaked; everyone had it.
2017+ L5P trucks are encrypted using the same type of stuff for National Security. Why? Because the EPA is that serious about this stuff.

I wish I was lying. Trust me.

Hell just call up Pruitt and have him get on with destroying the atmosphere- then you are in!

Also I just notice Sunday filling up my Dmax that pump said up to 10% Bio and or cooking oil or anything the want. Cheater Fukers lol

I would but they are in my way, I step over them getting in or out and if they are dirty whatever is on them gets on your pants. Guess I'll just lift it and then I'll use the steps!
