Had to sell my fast cat boats due to health issues and now getting into something slower. That said I'm looking at 2001 Baja 232 w 454MPI and would like to know what can I expect for WOT and what are the stock Mercury common props used the most? Current owner has 3 and 4 blade 23P and states 65+ w/3blade. I presume being only 310hp the RPM range is 4200-4600 although owner claim 5,000 w/3blade. Also claims 245 hours but will confirm when I scan the ECU. Any additional info welcomed?

Looked at it today and ECU shows 275hrs. Overall in good condition for the year. Has a 22P Bravo-1 prop and owner claims 60mph at 4200rpm which doesn't add up when using my calculator app. So RPM needs to be 4800 for 60mph or if at 4200 the boat speed is 55mph. Has a roller bunk trailer and boat could set about 6inch lower if bunks were used. Working of doing a test run over the next week or so.
That said I would like to find one with more HP or/and Mag engine

I have a 2000 252 Islander, great all around boat but not very fast with the 310 hp 7.4 MPI. I would guess the 232 is 3-4 mph faster with same power?
Mine does 55-56 mph on the speedo @ 4600 rpm with the 21p Mirage+ 3 blade which is what it came with from the factory. I think you will find most of the Islanders running Mirage + props if stock.
