Default Bravo 1 up trim not working works with separate trailer switch

Ok did mercruiser solenoid check they both pass and are almost new. Replaced both trim senders with factory mercruiser ones. I can rotate trim limit sender both ways and no change. I get nothing trying to go up. Wiring looks perfect in back where they hookup. Pulled trim switch out of shifter to expose wires and I can reverse the white green and white blue on switch and still only down works. Boat has never had this issue and this has started since transom replacement done with also putting new senders on. What do I need to check next or do. I have all factory manuals and really no info on this. Thank if anybody can help.

That is all the symptoms of a bad trim sender. You may have gotten a bad new part or one of the wires is pinched.

Something in the trim limit circuit. Jump the purple/white wire with the blue/white wire together where they normally plug together with the wires with the purple and blue sleeves on them. Just leave the sleeved wires disconnected. They run to the trim limit switch. You are now bypassing the trim limit switch.

Have you removed the sender cap and verified the contact blade is making contact with the copper strip? May just need to pull and reposition the insert. I just replaced both of my TA's and had to reclock 1 of the inserts so that it would contact the strip. As supplied, it wouldnt make contact regardless of turning the sender housing

trim limit sender needs to be adjusted correctly - if you are rotating it - have someone pushing the trim button at the handle up at the same time. Rotate the trim sender slowly - any drive movement.? Make sure you are phased correctly for the trim limit sender. You can take it off and rotate it slowly while someone is working the trim up button as well.

what wires did you plug into ? connection issues ?

is the trim pump / bracket ground all correct ?

swap solenoids at the trim pump location - up for down - down for up - U have down working - did anything change ?

Did the jumper wire and it worked I had already took the sender apart and clocked it and had my daughter hold the button down and no movement at all. Was going to just leave it and use it. But decided to look at it all again wires were perfect and not pinched. I took it apart this time taking the screw off that holds the contact on and noticed one side of the sender under contact was green so I had it all apart and sanded and cleaned the contacts and put it back together and I hoped the jumper wire and hooked back up and bingo. It works perfect got it all adjusted correctly. Thank you everyone for the tips.

You mentioned the senders were replace with factory ones and you had green corrosion on the contact ? How new were these ? Sounds like you just replaced them ?

It was brand new in a mercruiser box I don’t have a clue corrosion was on one contact area only. I just put these on with the transom job. That is why I kept looking elsewhere for something wrong as these were new.

I knew you sald they were brand new, so I was double checking --- unreal. So were did you buy them from ? and will you let them know about this issue ? sounds like a parts storage issue from whomever you bought them from

I have them as well and never seen new ones out of the box have any from of green corrosion internally. Never.

I tried everything I could think of before going back to this. But honestly this was the only thing that was different then before. Live and learn. Going to lake Ouachita in Arkansas in 18 days I am trying to get perfected before then.
