My 502 had to be removed over the winter to replace a leaky rear main seal, and a blown head gasket. After launched the boat at the end of they year last season, my out drive struck ground/ a bolder, which destroyed the impeller causing the engine to over heat resulting in a blown head gasket.
My first time trying to go out this year, I noticed that the engine did not sound right, so I lifted the engine hatch and noticed that the exhaust riser gaskets are in need of replacement. They are leaking water down the manifolds while the engine is running and the tops of the risers are getting extremely hot...I cant even keep my hand sitting on top of them because they are that hot. I have also notice my engine temp gauge starting to build heat, just got north of 180 degrees before I shut her down, could the riser gaskets be a cause my temp issue as well? I already replaced the impeller, impeller housing, and back flushed the cooler to get all the old impeller debris out of the system.
Thank You in advance
