Default Bravo one outdrive Oiler line block off

hey everyone, I have an 88 Baja sport 226 (as you can tell by the name) but my gimbal ring went bad and I found a used bravo 1 transom assembly which has new bellowes, gimbal bearing, shift cable and pin is tight. It came off of from what I was told a 92 Baja. My question is I noticed this has an Oiler line for the outdrive on it and I have the original 1st gen bravo 1 and my upper case doesn’t have the oiler on it. What’s the best way to block off that line without having to take the bell housing and everything off? The transom assembly is in pretty good shape. Has a few small things that need to be repaired but for $500 I figured it was worth it.

there is no pressure on it, just cap it. Then its there should you kill your drive and upgrade.

good call on that. I just didn’t know if I had to take the helmet off to do it or what? I don’t want to have to take the bell housing off because it has new bellows in it. I’m not sure if I can get in there to clip it and cap it

Dontt..just cap/plug the hose in the bilge...Thats all Im going to do. I have an hp gimble with the oiler, but my drive is an old non oiler. Im gonna run it till I kill it then get a new drive, At least my old drive has a recess where the oil nipple on the helmet is so it should clear easily.

how are you going to plug it in the bilge? The end pushes in.

There is a hose that runs from the gimble assembly to the resv. bottle.

Yeah I don’t have a bottle. Maybe I’ll just try and see if I can put a hose on the inner transom assembly.
