Yep I’m back, and not in a good way. Glassdave was so much help the first go round, man is truly a machine! Tore down my 38 and replaced stringers and transom, only to have a crap hack job done that left me in shame! So I’m now cutting and kicking it all back out. Yes it was so bad I’m littlerally able to kick stringers loose. So now I’m just committed to doing it myself since I now have the time and space to do it. My question is where the two pvc pipes run down the hill next to the main stringer from the cabin, can those be cut out to grind out the main stringer? Or make it more accessible?

I think it’s a word, is in my vocabulary at least lol. Yes everything was ground down and was handed off to someone that came highly recommended to replace everything and when I got the boat back I was beside myself at what a **** job they had done, not only wasted a lot of my money but all the materials I had ordered as well. Think I was more upset with them wasting all the materials than anything.
There was two 1” pvc pipes that ran from the cabin bulkhead tonthe egine bay as drains, no worries I’ve already cut them out and moved on with business. It’s now gutted once more( currently stripoing the cabin down as we speak. If I had the room to pull the deck off it would already have been done but since I’m kind of limited this rebuild will be with the deck on. I’ll keep you updated on the progress but been getting after it pretty hard for the last two weeks getting everything kicked out (literally kicknthe stringers and they can out if that tells you how ****ty of a glass job that was!) tomorrow should finish up the cabin being finished and moving to the engine bay and transom. I shot you my number in a pm, I do want to pick your brain on a couple things thou! Since I’m gutting the cabin I was thinking about copletwly removing the large hatches since I can’t find any of the old style hatches to replace them and the ones I bought are just a little too big. Plus the cabin will be more of a storage area rather than a actual berth, Nothing’s going back in but a porta potty. Can the holes for the taches be filled in and glassed over like they were never there giving the deck a nice smooth long look or will it be too soft to walk on? That sucks about the cig but sounds like a hard core layup, and they found the right person to do it! Oh **** got it! Cool cool! I’ll get in the engine bay today sine we’ve already got the cabin about stripped and give you some fun shiit to look at!

Next question is since I’m pulling the bulk head between the cockpit and cabin would a updated dash and cabin door be that difficult to add in? Maybe a middle door rather than the original on the side, and steps to get up on the deck? I like the old Excalibur plating around the gauges but they are plastic and cracked. Maybe some laser engraved replacements?
