Default 496 dry exhaust ?

Getting ready to put new manifolds on my 02 260 with a 496 mag (non)HO. Would like to go with a dry exhaust set up due to future plans of motor upgrades. Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for brand of exhaust to go with or if anyone has recently put a dry set up on their 496. Thanks

496 Mag Exhaust Manifolds, Performance?

Good reading info in above post.

Best exhaust out there for looks/power are the CMI sport tubes. Only downside is once you have dry tails made, you will be well over $6k.

Dana Marine makes a very nice exhaust system for roughly half the cmi price. You want the #5 risers and Bob can build them dry.

Lightning Marine also makes awesome headers.
They also have dry options available.

Stainless Marine/EMI manifolds are very similar to the 496 manifolds at double the cost. The above 3 have proven power gains over the stock manifolds.

What are your future plans for upgrades?

My current setup is not dry, but close. 12.5" extensions on stock risers. This mixes water/exhaust 1" off transom. With early Gill alum 496 manifolds it's a cheap/high flowing setup for ip to 525hp.

Well, I went another route, made my own dry pipes. Saved a ton of $$$$$$ over CMI etc. Although I used the stock manifold, there was a little performance to be had and the sound, well just just say "HELL YEAH"

Any Velocity 260 Owners Interested In Mod's ????
