Default CORSA question

I have a 32 Sunsation Innovator with 496 Ho Mags. The actuators on the port motor are pretty weak. When the switch is off exhaust runs through the prop, when activated it runs through the hull. I never run it through the prop so can I just tie them open and be done with it? Is there a reason they default to through the prop? Want to make sure I understand and don’t break something. The pull is weak they will hold if I open them manually until I turn the key off I have to pull the open again. Thanks for the help.

I developed the same problem a few weekends ago. From what a Corsa dealer told me, if you want to fix it, you need a new solenoid and wire harness as they have changed. Again hearsay, but I was told if you want to do away with them, you can zip tie them open. My boat sits too low for me to risk water reversion while anchored. I'm pretty sure that I can find a used one. Hope that helps you.

First, make sure everything moves freely and is lubricated, you have fully charged (good, not old and weak) batteries, and you run this test before deciding the solenoids are junk.

Thank you very much. I will test them this weekend. Since both are on the port side I am wondering if I have a connection issue. Thanks again for the help.
