Default Bravo 3 old vs new

Hello to all,
I am about to change my old Alpha One gen 2 with a Bravo 3 in my 350 MAG MPI 300HP 2010 model. The boat is a Sea Ray 220br.

I've found a very good deal for the Bravo 3 (with transom, gimbal etc.. 1:2 with 19 props) but it's the older model (the square shaped not the bullet shaped new model.)

I have searched a lot but I can't find information about the differences between the old and the new bravo 3 and I hope somebody here can help on this..

Thank you in advance

I had the old style until it ate a log. Replaced with the new style (old unit wasn't rebuildable).
My Merc Certified guy said there isn't really a difference in function or reliability in his experience. There are some differences in parts, but they seem to be just updates for manufacturing purposes.

The case is different and I saw some slight differences in handling during backing, but otherwise it seems to be the same.

Even if the new one is stronger you shouldn't have any problems with either behind a 350 in a 22ft boat.

The uppers for all Bravo drives changed around '05 to the new sweptback design. From what I remember when they came out it the redesign was for improved shifting smoothness.
