Any early 1980's 30' velocities out there for sale?

Hmmm- thought I had the only Maelstrom Velocity. Hard to find out any information on this situation in the 80's. As good or better than any other boats of this era . Small decal on the transom says " Custom Built and Rigged By Maelstrom ". Yes, I talked to people from Velocity- not much there. Would appreciate any information on these boats.

I haven't had much luck in getting the full story either. From what I gather Steve had a connection with the guys at Maelstrom and they laid up a handful of 30's. Not sure if it was a result of the issues with Regal or not. Mine is a '90, and I thought it was only the last of the 30's that were built at Maelstrom, but maybe not. I can tell you that mine looks new, and there's not a stress crack on the boat. The transom was rock solid when we pulled the transom assemblies a couple years ago so the build quality (in my opinion) was superior to that of the true Regal boats.

Only story I got was Maelstrom was owned by Steves father. Even less out there about Maelstrom boats. I read somewhere that they made wood catamarans. No comment on that. Got this thread off track a bit- Gentleman was looking to buy a Velocity. Good luck

I seem to recall that Maelstrom at one time was located close to Gulfwind Marine in Sarasota? If so, Gulfwind was owned by Gene Whipp who was a close friend (and customer) of Steve Stepp's.
