For those of you that have put shorty drives on your 29's, what gains did it bring? Twin 350 or 383.

I had a 2001 I bought new with 350 mags in it that I put imco 2" shorties on. Results werent that good. Ha trouble getting on plane with certain props and with others didnt carry bow well enough. That said, we are talking 16 yrs ago, so there are a lot more prop offerings that might yield you better results. I ended up pulling the shorties off and selling them. For that matter, sold the boat after 3 months, as I absolutely hated the small block power
